Yeah, it was strange. I wasn't too keen on the bit where Nick was imagining that he had died. It took away from the feeling somewhat, and was a little too 'Tarantino'.
It was funny but completely out of keeping with anything else in the series. If I hadn't heard that it was a Tarantino-written-directed one I would have spent the entire two hours thinking 'what the fuck is going on?'
In the middle i was thinking Tarantino had the pacing wrong and that it was too slow... but by the end I though he'd done it right. I liked it. That said, I wouldn't watch an entire series like that.
